William Graf

Bill Graf is a professional fine artist and art instructor of Oil, Acrylic, and Watercolor Painting classes for The Atelier Art School, Art League of Long Island, and the National Art League in New York. He also holds workshops and demonstrations for landscape, still life, and portrait painting for art leagues, artists societies, art exhibits, festivals, and art schools. His extensive art career(s) as a fine artist and illustrator began after completing his drawing and painting studies at the Art Students League of NYC. He then went on to study Old Masters Painting and Drawing in Florence, Italy at the Cecil Graves Studio.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards from the International Miniature Portrait Show of Montreal, NYC Students Art League Figure Drawing 1st Prize, Huntington NY Arts Council, NY Nassau County Art Leagues 1st Prize, Best in Show, and honorable mentions as well as awarded the Frank J. Reilly Scholarship Award to name a few. He was also commissioned to do a mural project depicting an American history scene displayed in the White House, Washington DC. His workshop teaching methods give personal attention and instructive techniques to artists of any level working in oil or watercolor mediums. His students experience a sense of accomplishment as he brings them through to completing their paintings with learned techniques to apply to their painting skills. Bill also encourages artists to “ hone” their drawing skills since it becomes the foundation of their artwork making charcoal and pencil drawing instruction available to those who want to improve their sketching skills.
