Description of En Plein- Air Workshop
Mary Rose’s workshops include short daily demos and individual guidance.
Emphasis is on simplifying a scene over a short span of time to capture the light and atmospheric conditions of the day.
Learn to see the big relationships of contrasting shapes and silhouettes to create a strong value pattern within the painting.
Review how these essential studies are important when creating larger more developed work in the studio.
Staying at our hotel in Minori figure it out I guess, a quaint little coastal town on the Amalfi Coast.
Hotel Minori Palace
Day 1 – Arrival at Naples Airport & transfer to so I’ll read it in a second Minori. Settle into the hotel, discover Minori & then meet for dinner. Hang on We will meet the tutor & chat about the workshop & what you are wanting to get out of it.
Day 2 – Paint within the town & or the Coastal view of Minori.
Day 3 – Travel to Ravello up above the hills with a bird’s eye view of the Amalfi Coast & if you chose alleyways & gardens.
Day 4 – Travel by boat to Cetara, another cute but interesting little coastal town with boats & Saracen watch towers.
Day 5 – Free day. This can be Positano or Capri (boat trip not included €30 to €50).
Day 6 – Boat trip & paint in Amalfi Coast in the morning & walk to the town of Atrani for afternoon painting.
Day 7 – Time permitting we will paint in the morning in the town of Maiori, then another option for an afternoon guided visit to the Ruins of Pompeii.
Day 8 – Departure.
